Short Run Printing, Ltd.
Terms of Service
Updated: April 3, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Short Run Printing, Ltd. website (“our Website”) and all printing, mailing, and related services provided by Short Run Printing, Ltd. (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing any page of our Website or placing an order, you (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”) understand and agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms also constitute the “Terms of Sale” for any printing or mailing services we perform on your behalf.
Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. For complete details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, including payment data, cookies, and file retention practices, please see our Privacy Policy.
Copyright Policy
We respect the intellectual property of others, and we ask our customers to do the same.
By using our Website and/or submitting content to be printed, you represent that you have full rights to use the copy, design, and images in your piece(s) without infringing the intellectual property rights of any third party. You acknowledge that subject matter does not need to bear a copyright notice to be protected by copyright law, and the absence of such notice does not assure a right to reproduce. You further warrant that no copyright notice has been removed from any material used in preparing your content for reproduction.
You agree to indemnify and hold Short Run Printing, Ltd., our subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, business partners, and employees harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of content you submit to us or transmit through our Website for printing.
Print Quality Expectations and Quality Guarantee
Our commercial-grade printing is adequate for most general business use. It is not “Critical Color” grade, and no reprints are provided for minor color or density variations from proofs or within a run.
All price quotes, whether custom-created or derived from our written or online pricing, are based on our receiving a usable PDF file (or a written pre-approval for a similar file type) that requires no graphic design or corrections. Your requesting our services authorizes us to perform such work in the manner and on the terms set forth herein.
Short Run Printing, Ltd. acknowledges that, on rare occasions, a file can become corrupt when being processed by a RIP (Raster Image Processor). Pursuant to our Quality Guarantee, we will reprint your order or issue a refund if our equipment introduces errors that render your printing unacceptable.
Although we make every reasonable effort to complete jobs by the estimated ship date, delays due to equipment failure are outside our control and therefore not grounds for a refund or service credit. We maintain service contracts with equipment manufacturers (or their authorized agents) that provide for an average response time of four (4) business hours from placement of a service call. Please note that this is an average response time, not a guarantee. Actual repair timelines may be longer if replacement parts are not immediately available or if additional service visits are required. These contracts enable us to deliver the high-quality printing you expect from Short Run Printing, Ltd.
Proof Approvals
Customer Responsibility: Proof review is solely the customer’s responsibility. Short Run Printing, Ltd. is not responsible for catching or correcting any errors in your submitted files, including but not limited to: typographical errors, text positioned too close to the trim edge, missing text or images, font substitutions or missing fonts, incorrect page dimensions (e.g., content designed at 10”×20” placed in an 8.5”×11” document), or any other discrepancies between the submitted file and the customer’s intent. When a proof arrives, it must be inspected thoroughly and promptly.
Approval Deadlines: Once a job is in “Pending – Proof Approval” status, our system will not allow it to advance to press. Delays in approving proofs will result in delayed delivery. For Next on Press (NOP) service, proof approval must be received within two (2) hours of receipt by the customer. For all other services, proof approval must be received by 10:30 AM Arizona time on the business day following proof receipt. If approval is not received by these deadlines, delays in delivery are likely to occur and Short Run Printing, Ltd. bears no responsibility for such delays.
Proof Reminders: It is not Short Run Printing, Ltd.’s responsibility to remind customers of pending proofs. We are not liable for missed deadlines caused by email spam filters, incorrect email addresses, or customer oversight.
Multiple Proofs: Multiple PDF proofs are subject to our proof billing policy. Additional paper proofs are available at their respective charges and will add time to the production schedule.
PDF Proofs: PDF proofs are provided for content review only. Color accuracy on digital proofs depends entirely on the customer’s monitor calibration, display settings, and viewing environment. PDF proofs should not be relied upon for color-critical decisions.
Paper Proofs: Paper proofs are the only reliable method for evaluating color accuracy. Paper proofs are printed on the same equipment and media used for the production run. Paper proofs will not include UV coating or other finishing treatments—only printing and, if a bound proof is ordered, bindery and trimming. Unbound paper proofs will not be trimmed or bound; crop marks and fold lines will be visible as they appear in the production file. If you have concerns about the placement of text or graphics—particularly how bindery operations (trimming, folding, binding) may affect the final appearance—we strongly recommend a bound paper proof.
Short Run Printing, Ltd. is not liable for any variations between the printed output and the submitted file if the customer approved a PDF or paper proof reflecting the content. At the time of proof approval, we record the sign-off information submitted by the user, the timestamp, and the IP address. This recorded information constitutes a legally binding digital signature, equivalent to a physical pen-and-ink signature.
Payment Terms
Short Run Printing, Ltd. operates on a cash-and-carry basis. Payment is authorized at the time of order placement. Shortly after order placement, a task is created for our Accounting department to log and capture the authorized funds. No credit terms are offered; payment must be received prior to work being performed.
Payment transactions may be processed through third-party payment providers, including PayPal and Authorize.net. These transactions are additionally subject to the respective provider’s terms of service, privacy policies, and dispute resolution procedures. Short Run Printing, Ltd. is not responsible for actions taken by payment processors, including but not limited to transaction holds, delays in fund release, fraud flags, or changes to processing fees.
Chargebacks and Payment Disputes: In the event of a billing concern, we strongly encourage you to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback or dispute with your payment provider. In the event of a chargeback or returned payment, we reserve the right to charge a fee of $50.00 (or the maximum amount permitted by applicable law) and to pursue recovery of the original payment amount through all available means.
Processing Fee on Refunds: All refunds are subject to a processing fee. Refunds issued for any reason will be reduced by a five percent (5%) payment processing fee to offset non-recoverable transaction costs. This fee applies to refunds initiated by either party, including but not limited to cancellations, quality disputes, and quoting errors.
Order Cancellation and Returns Policy
Because our products are custom-manufactured, all sales are considered final once production begins. Cancellation fees are assessed based on the stage of production at the time of cancellation:
Before Proof Generation: A cancellation fee of five percent (5%) of the order total will be assessed.
After PDF Proof Has Been Generated: A cancellation fee of ten percent (10%) of the order total will be assessed.
After Paper or Bound Proof Has Been Generated: A cancellation fee of ten percent (10%) of the print order total (excluding the proof fee) will be assessed, plus the full cost of the paper or bound proof as a separate line item.
After Proof Approval: No cancellations are permitted once a proof has been approved. In the rare event that an approved job must be stopped and no product has shipped, the shipping charges will be issued as a credit memo on file to be applied toward the replacement order. If press operations have not been completed at the time of the stop, the unprinted balance will also be issued as a credit memo.
No Modifications After Proof Generation: Once proof generation has begun, no modifications to the order are permitted, including but not limited to changes in quantity, page count, finishing options, or specifications. If changes are necessary, the existing order must be cancelled (subject to the applicable cancellation fee as described above), and a new order must be placed with the corrected specifications. The new order will be subject to current pricing, file requirements, and the production schedule in effect at the time of placement.
Quoting Errors: It is the customer’s responsibility to verify that all order specifications—including page count, quantity, size, and finishing options—are accurate at the time of order placement. Short Run Printing, Ltd. is not obligated to audit or correct customer-submitted order details. In the event that a quoting or pricing error on our part results in an overcharge and the customer requests a correction, we will issue a refund for the balance of the overpayment minus a five percent (5%) processing fee.
Submitted Content
You agree not to use our Website to send, upload, post, or otherwise transmit any content that violates any applicable federal or state law. We do not control customer-submitted content and do not guarantee its accuracy, integrity, or quality.
We reserve the right to refuse to print any content at our sole discretion, including but not limited to content that: violates these Terms or any applicable law; promotes, depicts, or encourages violence, terrorism, or criminal activity; promotes hatred, racism, bigotry, or discrimination against any individual or group; contains sexually explicit depictions of minors or any content that exploits, endangers, or sexualizes individuals under the age of 18; or is otherwise deemed obscene, harmful, or objectionable by Short Run Printing, Ltd.
Reporting to Authorities: Short Run Printing, Ltd. reserves the right to report any submitted content to the appropriate law enforcement authorities if we believe, in good faith, that the content depicts, promotes, or facilitates illegal activity—including, without limitation, the exploitation or endangerment of minors, animal cruelty, or any other criminal conduct. By submitting content for printing, you acknowledge and accept this right.
When you or someone on your behalf places an order under your account, you grant us a license to access and store the associated digital files for the purpose of processing print orders. You agree that we bear no responsibility or liability for the deletion of or failure to store any content transmitted to our Website.
We may from time to time include customers’ printed pieces as samples of our products on our Website or in our sample packet. You grant us permission to display or mail samples of your piece(s) unless you specifically request otherwise via U.S. Mail, directed to:
Short Run Printing, Ltd., Attn: Pre-Sale Support (Samples), 3128 West Thomas Road, Suite 201, Phoenix, AZ 85017
File Retention and Deletion
While we do not guarantee the long-term storage of customer files, our goal is to retain uploaded files for at least one (1) calendar year from the date of upload. After that period, files may be deleted without notice. If you require long-term file storage, we recommend maintaining your own copies of all submitted files.
Tax Exemption
Customers claiming tax-exempt status are responsible for providing a valid, current tax exemption certificate prior to or at the time of order placement. Tax exemption will be applied to orders only after a valid certificate has been received and approved by our staff.
It is the customer’s sole responsibility to ensure that their tax exemption certificate remains current and on file. If a certificate expires or is found to be invalid, applicable sales tax will be charged on all subsequent orders until a replacement certificate is provided. Short Run Printing, Ltd. is not responsible for refunding tax collected on orders placed while an expired or invalid certificate was on file.
Shipped Quantity
As with most custom manufacturing industries, we do our best to ship the exact quantity ordered. Due to the number of machines and steps involved in production, some loss is expected. We intentionally overrun each project to account for anticipated loss during printing, bindery, and processing.
Occasionally, more pieces are lost than expected, requiring a short shipment. You may receive up to five (5) pieces or three percent (3%), whichever is greater, fewer than the quantity ordered. Upon request, we will issue a refund for the difference between the shipped and ordered quantities (based on our shipping logs).
Any extra copies produced during the manufacturing process may, at our sole discretion, be included in the shipment at no additional charge. Inclusion of overrun copies is not guaranteed and should not be relied upon when determining your order quantity.
Shipping and Delivery
The majority of our products are shipped via common carriers such as UPS and FedEx. In some cases, we may use our discretion to route shipments via air or ground freight if we determine it will provide more cost-effective or reliable service. If a shipment is diverted to air or ground freight, we reserve the right to extend the estimated delivery window to accommodate last-mile logistics.
Delivery Estimates: All delivery dates and transit times provided by Short Run Printing, Ltd. are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Carrier-stated delivery commitments are set by the carriers themselves and are subject to change, particularly during peak shipping season (typically November 1 through January 10) when carriers routinely extend their stated delivery windows. Named weather events in the United States may also cause system-wide delays even if neither the shipper’s nor the receiver’s address is directly affected. While we make every reasonable effort to deliver your project by the requested date, we cannot be held liable for delays in transit regardless of the cause.
We strongly recommend that customers who need materials by a specific date place their order for delivery at least three (3) business days prior to the date needed.
Service Failure Delays are delays within the shipping network that are eligible for a refund under the carrier’s Money-Back Guarantee. Currently, the only services covered by the UPS and FedEx Money-Back Guarantee are Next Day Air services. In the event of a Service Failure delay, we will, upon request, refund the shipping charges to you.
Non-Service-Failure Delays (e.g., weather delays) are not covered by the carrier’s Money-Back Guarantee because they are outside the carrier’s direct control. We are unable to refund shipping charges for non-service-failure delays.
Short Run Printing, Ltd. is not liable for U.S. Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, or other carrier errors, including loss, damage, or delay.
Address Changes After Order Placement: If a delivery address change is requested after the order has been placed, the customer is responsible for any shipping cost differential plus a nominal administrative fee. Please note that the delivery date may change due to transit time variations to the new address.
Incorrect Shipping Addresses: It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the shipping address entered at the time of order is accurate and complete. If an incorrect address is provided and the shipment is dispatched, the customer is responsible for all costs incurred in correcting the error, including but not limited to: carrier address correction fees, return shipping charges, reshipment costs, hold-at-location fees, and a nominal administrative fee to cover our time in this process. These correction efforts are provided on a best-effort basis and are not guaranteed to succeed. If a package is delivered to the address as provided on the shipping label, it is highly unlikely the package will be recoverable. In such cases, replacement of the order will be at the customer’s full expense.
Store Pickup
If you choose to pick up your project in person, you may do so once you have been notified that it is ready. Pickup is available at:
Short Run Printing, Ltd., 3128 West Thomas Road, Suite 201, Phoenix, AZ 85017
Please proceed to the southernmost man-sized door on the west (rear) side of the building. Our facility is a secured, closed facility—all doors remain locked at all times. Please press the call button on the keypad to the right of the door, and a team member will assist you as soon as possible.
Assumption of Risk: By electing store pickup, you acknowledge that you may be entering an active industrial workspace. You assume all risk of personal injury or property damage while on the premises of Short Run Printing, Ltd. and agree to hold Short Run Printing, Ltd. harmless from any claims arising from your presence at our facility. Short Run Printing, Ltd. is not liable for any damage to your vehicle, its contents, or any third-party property that occurs at or around our facility in connection with order pickup, including but not limited to damage resulting from loading, overloading, or transporting printed materials. It is the customer’s sole responsibility to ensure that their vehicle is suitable for safely transporting the order and that the loaded weight does not exceed the vehicle manufacturer’s rated capacity.
Pickup Inspection and Sign-Off: At the time of pickup, a sample of your order will be presented for your inspection. You will be asked to sign the work order, acknowledging that the order is correct, complete, and picked up in full. By signing the work order, you accept the job as meeting your specifications. No claims for errors or deficiencies will be accepted after the work order has been signed and the order has left our facility.
Job Abandonment
If a job remains in process (e.g., awaiting customer response, proof approval, file corrections, or additional payment) for more than twenty-one (21) calendar days without communication from the customer, the job and any associated funds will be considered abandoned. Abandoned jobs will not be refunded, and any materials produced or in progress may be disposed of at our discretion.
Similarly, completed orders awaiting pickup that are not claimed within twenty-one (21) calendar days of the pickup-ready notification will be considered abandoned. Abandoned materials may be disposed of without further notice, and no refund will be issued.
Short Run Printing, Ltd. will make reasonable efforts to contact the customer prior to declaring a job abandoned, but the customer bears ultimate responsibility for maintaining timely communication regarding their orders.
Shipping Insurance and Damage Claims
Shipping insurance is available as an optional add-on at the time of order placement. We strongly recommend insurance for high-value or time-sensitive shipments.
Inspection and Reporting: Please inspect all packages immediately upon receipt. Any claims for shipping damage, missing items, or errors must be reported to Short Run Printing, Ltd. within ten (10) calendar days of receipt. Claims reported after this period may not be eligible for resolution.
Best Practices for Damage Claims: To ensure a successful claim with UPS or FedEx, please observe the following:
• Retain all original packaging materials, including the outer box, inner packing, labels, and any cushioning material. The carrier may require the original packaging for inspection.
• Do not discard or recycle any packaging until the claim has been fully resolved.
• Do not use or distribute the damaged product, as doing so may void the claim.
• Make the package available for carrier pickup and inspection if requested.
• Take photographs of all six (6) sides of the outer box, including a clear photograph of the shipping label showing the delivery address and tracking number. Additionally, take close-up photographs of the damaged contents.
Once notified, Short Run Printing, Ltd. will initiate the claims process with the appropriate carrier on your behalf.
Mailing Services
Short Run Printing, Ltd. offers mailing services including address list processing, CASS certification, NCOA (National Change of Address) processing, deduplication, presorting, and delivery to the United States Postal Service (USPS).
Mailing List Ownership: By uploading or otherwise providing a mailing list to Short Run Printing, Ltd., you transfer ownership of that list to Short Run Printing, Ltd. for all purposes related to mail preparation, including but not limited to address standardization, CASS certification, NCOA (National Change of Address) processing, deduplication, and postal presorting. This transfer of ownership enables Short Run Printing, Ltd. to process your list through USPS-required address update services as part of our standard mail preparation workflow. You represent that you have the authority to transfer ownership of the list and that the list was obtained through lawful means.
Address List Accuracy: The customer is solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all mailing lists provided. While we perform CASS and NCOA processing to standardize and update addresses, these services cannot correct all address errors. We are not liable for undeliverable mail resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated address data provided by the customer.
USPS Delivery: Once mail pieces are inducted into the USPS mail stream, delivery timelines are controlled entirely by the USPS. Short Run Printing, Ltd. makes no guarantees regarding USPS delivery dates, delivery success rates, or mail forwarding. We are not liable for mail that is lost, delayed, returned, or otherwise undelivered by the USPS.
Proof of Fulfillment: A completed PS Form 3606 (Certificate of Mailing), or equivalent USPS acceptance documentation, shall serve as conclusive and undisputed proof that Short Run Printing, Ltd. has fulfilled its obligation for the mailing services portion of a job. Once we have obtained a PS Form 3606 or equivalent, our responsibility for the mailing is considered complete, and any subsequent delivery issues are the sole responsibility of the USPS.
Postage and Fees: Postage rates are determined by the USPS and are subject to change. Quoted postage is based on rates in effect at the time of the quote and may be adjusted if rates change before the mailing date. The customer is responsible for all postage costs, which are non-refundable once the mailing has been inducted.

We reserve the right to correct pricing errors displayed on our Website at any time. If a pricing error is discovered after an order has been placed, we will notify you and provide the option to proceed at the corrected price or cancel the order.
Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
Arbitration: Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, or the breach, termination, enforcement, interpretation, or validity thereof, including the determination of the scope or applicability of this agreement to arbitrate, shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered in Maricopa County, Arizona. The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Judgment on the arbitral award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. This arbitration clause shall survive termination of these Terms.
Class Action Waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis and not as part of a class, consolidated, or representative action.
Limitation of Liability
In any event, the total liability of Short Run Printing, Ltd. arising out of or in connection with any order shall not exceed the total purchase price of the specific order in question, excluding shipping and handling charges. This limitation applies to all claims, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory.
Short Run Printing, Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, or goodwill, regardless of whether such damages were foreseeable or whether we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our liability is limited to, at our sole discretion, reprinting the original order quantity or issuing a refund of the purchase price (less applicable processing fees as described herein), excluding shipping and handling. We are not responsible for any damages or claims incurred by you or your business as a result of receiving printed materials that are defective, incomplete, or delivered later than the estimated delivery date.
Modifications to These Terms
Short Run Printing, Ltd. reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. The most current version of these Terms will be posted on our Website with the effective date noted at the top. Your continued use of our Website or services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
